Excellence Through Equity
Equity by definition is the quality of being fair or impartial-providing what is needed for all to be successful. When any student, family or neighborhood is shown partiality or unfairness due to socio-economic standing, beliefs, race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation or diverse learning needs, our community as a whole simply cannot be as valuable and great as it should be. I will work to incorporate the needs, requests and unheard voices into every district action item to increase equity for all. Excellence Through Belonging
All humans, but especially our youth, have a need to connect with others and be socially accepted. If our students do not feel that they truly are a part of the student body, proudly calling themselves a “Trojan” or a “Panther,” for example, then there is disconnect. I will work for all families and their students to truly belong to Park Hill, so that internal motivation drives success. Excellence Through Rigorous Learning
Ask any Park Hill administrator or educator about rigorous learning and discover the passion they have to set our students up for success and bright futures. I will work for teachers to have the necessary training, academically and socially, to confidently and rigorously teach our students.

Park Hill School District Staff Appreciation is always a highlight for me. My team (Dr. Briedwell, Mr. Fulghum, and Dr. Courtney) was wonderful and fun. We walked through PH LEAD Innovation Studio, Renner Elementary, Union Chapel Elementary - Park Hill School District, Hawthorn Elementary- Park Hill School District and District Office. LOTS of steps, but I truly love showering our staff with goodness and ensuring they know of their importance to the district and ALL students.

Tonight's Board Reorganizational meeting included the swearing in of Alexia Norris for Park Hill and Janice Bolin, (as Deanna Munoz for Park Hill School District was previously sworn in), and I was appointed Board President for the 2026-27 term. I feel honored to hold this position again and work with wonderful Board teammates.

Parents, strong relationships matter. Teens who feel connected to their parents are less likely to use alcohol or other drugs, even as their independence grows. With prom coming up, your influence can play an important role in helping your child stay safe.

For the second year, I was honored to give remarks at the opening ceremony of the City of Fountains Regional Robotics Competition hosted by Park Hill South Robotics - FRC 5126 and Park Hill South High School. It was not only great to "work" side-by-side with my 2022 Panther graduate, Nakiya💜, who was one of the FIRST event's emcees, but being in the Panther's new gymnasium was A-MAZING!!! There were teams from several different states and four from Mexico! 🇲🇽 All teams had much more space in their respective pit areas to gather and tend to their robots this year. 📢Thanks PHSD community for supporting the 2022 bond.

🔊Shout out to Bob and Laura of FIRST Robotics and KC STEM Alliance and Park Hill School District Facilities and Support Staff and Leadership. 🤖

At the request of the Board, Superintendent Kimbrel started doing "Walk-n-Talks," which allows Board members the opportunity to visit and tour school buildings, see programming in action, facilities, classrooms, playgrounds, and of course our amazing teachers, staff, and administrators in action with student instruction. It is a great opportunity to reinforce what we discuss in the boardroom. In February, I was at Hawthorn Elementary- Park Hill School District. 🐺💙

Besides learning so much about the school, I got to hang with Kristen Mitchell, who was named Assistant Principal of the Year by the Clay-Platte Region of the Missouri Association of Elementary. She and I met years back, bonding as Army wives, PHS Band parents, and Park Hill South Robotics - FRC 5126 moms.
