The brothers and sisters of the FOP Lodge #40 are deeply saddened at this unexpected loss. We ask everyone to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers. You will forever be missed, Hicks.

It’s with great sadness that we announce that Courthouse Security Officer, Victor Hicks has passed away. He suffered a medical emergency this morning at home.

Victor served as a deputy in the past and most recently as a CSO. He will be missed. Please keep his family, friends and co-workers in your thought and prayers.

A rough one to post because the wound feels so fresh. One year ago today, we lost Deputy Ming. They say that time heals all wounds. We are hoping this is true… Deputy Elijah Ming. End of watch: July 26th, 2025.

We typically don’t do PSA’s (public service announcements) on this page but here we are… it appears the scam calls are starting up again. Deceitful folks calling you and claiming to be members of the sheriffs office, the courts or even federal law enforcement (bold move 😳).

Absolutely NO law enforcement agency (local, state, or federal) will call you to let you know you have a warrant. They especially won’t ask you to pay the warrant with Bitcoin or gift cards 🤦‍♂️ if you’re ever in doubt if the call is real or fake, reach out to the sheriff’s office. We are happy to help.
