The garden has reopened after the storm. Come visit during normal business hours— 9 am to 4 pm.

During your visit, you may encounter slippery surfaces, loose rocks, falling branches, thorny plants, and exposed roots. For your safety, walking shoes are recommended. Always exercise caution.

After months of community engagement, research, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Parks and Recreation invites you to a public presentation of the draft Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden Long-Range Plan.

Hale ʻĀkoakoa Room, Windward Community College

The draft plan reflects community input gathered since Fall 2025 and outlines a vision for:
• Enhancing the visitor experience
• Strengthening community connections and accessibility
• Preserving the garden's environmental, cultural, and historical resources
• Guiding future botanical collections, facilities, education, and visitor amenities

Since opening in 1982, the 400-acre Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden has become a treasured gathering place for Windward Oʻahu, welcoming nearly 724,000 visitors in Fiscal Year 2025. We invite you to learn about the draft plan and help shape the garden's future.

You’re invited to participate in our second community workshop to learn about the process and to provide your thoughts and ideas. No decisions are being made in this workshop, and this is one of several opportunities to share and learn.
