Into The Wild 🌲

📍Marine Corps Base Hawaii (Oct. 2, 2026)

MCBH’s Environmental Compliance and Protection Division partnered up with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Pacific Region and Hamer Environmental, to release a rehabilitated Hawaiian short-eared owl, or pueo, at MCBH.

The pueo is an endangered species and its release supports ongoing efforts to monitor and protect native wildlife and conserve natural resources across the installation.

Where Lethality Begins💥

U.S. Marines assigned to 3rd Littoral Combat Team, 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, engage simulated targets during a live-fire basic skills package at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Sept. 15, 2026.

The live-fire training focused on combat readiness and small-unit leadership through long and short-bay drills, fragmentation gr***de employment, and a heavy explosive weapons package, developing 3rd LCT’s team leaders’ ability to employ Marines and make sound decisions in a dynamic combat environment.

Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao and his wife, April Cao, share an important message to our Marines and Sailors on what it truly means to be ready for the next fight. Being ready for the fight isn’t just physical, it’s mental, spiritual and moral.

You never know what someone may be carrying behind the uniform. Sometimes, being there for someone starts with simply letting them know they don’t have to carry it alone.

Take time to check in, notice when something feels different, ask how they’re doing and listen to the answer.

Crisis Response: Exercise Lethal Breeze 2026

📍Marine Corps Base Hawaii (Sept. 18 & 22, 2026)

U.S. Marines and civilian law enforcement put crisis reponse capabilities to test during two days of Lethal Breeze 2026. Across training scenarios, participants responded to simulated active threats and mass casualty incidents testing the base’s ability to deploy security augmentation forces and evaluated interagency communication and coordination during a dynamic incident.
