Available for adoption 10am 06-02-26…. Puppies, weim/Bulli mix, two males and one female, 4 months old, have first vaccination, flea/tick/heartworm prevention started and have scheduled vet visit for 2nd vaccination and sterilization(part of adoption). Adoption fee is $50 and adopter must be willing to transport to already scheduled(paid) for vet visit.

‼️🆘🆘‼️UPDATE…. Bears adoption has been sponsored!!! Bear has been waiting for a home since November’25. He is starting to show kennel stress and needs out!! Available for adoption for much to long of time, we need to find Bear a home, please SHARE SHARE SHARE!!! Bear, 1 1/2 yr old, Bulli mix, neutered male, vaccinated and microchipped. Bear needs to be in an only pet home, but he is trying SO HARD to be a good boy. Bear was not socialized in a very crucial time in his life and was never around other animals he doesn’t know how to act appropriately around other animals. He needs an owner willing to work with him and help him to learn to be a normal house pet because most of his life he has been living at the shelter. If you have some love to give, ability to work with a young Bulli, and no other pets please contact us!!! Bear is a GOOD BOY he loves every human he has met, he just needs the right person to adopt!!! Dog adoption fee is $50. Walk-in adoptions EVERYDAY 10am-1pm.

UPDATE… we now know the dogs name is Luna. Her original owner may have given her away we are currently tracking down information on Miss Luna.

Do you know this dog? Found at large on Wheeler Lk Rd. Male, Great Pyrenees, wearing collar, no ID, no microchip. Safety lodged at Kalkaska Animal Control/Shelter 05/19/26. Please call with any information.

Do you know my owners? Waiting at the stop sign at Smith Lake Rd/M72 W. Bulli breed, intact male, black and white, no collar, no ID, not currently able to scan for microchip. If this is your dog or you know this dog please contact Kalkaska Animal Control/Shelter, (231)258-3309. Please leave detailed message the shelter is currently EXTREMELY busy.

Thank you to LTBHS, for assisting us to help this family and these dogs! It sometimes takes several community’s support to help with situation such as this. We are always grateful for our local community support but very appreciative of the LTBHS community help for this situation today.

Tonight, 15 new Chihuahuas are settling in at Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. 💚

A few are already heading to their foster homes, with more scheduled to head out to tomorrow thanks to the incredible response from our community.

We’d especially like to thank Kalkaska Animal Control/Shelter for the compassion, professionalism, and care shown throughout this situation. We are honored they trusted our team to assist.

We also want to acknowledge that this was clearly a very difficult situation for an owner who loved these dogs very much and wanted help for them. Animal welfare is often complex, emotional, and deeply human — and we are grateful we could work together to create a safe path forward for both the animals AND the people who love them.

Over the next several days, these pups will receive medical exams, rest, soft beds, and time to decompress before beginning their next chapter.

Available for adoption…. Whitney, young adult, spayed female, gray with green eyes(resembles a Blue Russian). She has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Cat adoption fee is $25.
