🚨FAST FACTS: Montana's Dual-District Funding Structure📚
Montana law requires smaller class sizes in elementary grades than in high school. Smaller classes mean more teachers.

What this means KPS:
📊 The elementary district serves 116 fewer students than the high school district — but is required by state law to employ 12 more full-time teachers.
💰 That translates to $848,796 more in teacher salaries for the elementary district.
📉 At the same time, the elementary district receives $1,448 less per student in state revenue than the high school district.

The K-8 Elementary District Levy on the May 5 ballot addresses this funding structure.

Last spring, I was approached by Whitefish Credit Union about creating a Member Story featuring Linderman. This fall, a filming crew came in and interviewed our staff and students, and I am excited to share that the Linderman story is now published!

We are incredibly proud of the work happening here every day and the students who make Linderman such a special place. This video is a great reflection of our community, our approach to learning, and the meaningful experiences our students are engaged in.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for being such an important part of Linderman, and a special thank you to Whitefish Credit Union for helping share our story.

🔔 All KPS schools will be open Friday, March 13, operating on regular schedules.

Please contact your school with any questions or concerns about your student's attendance.

ALERT: Due to the forecasted weather and high likelihood of widespread power outages, Kalispell Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, March 12.

All after-school activities and athletic practices are also canceled.

We will notify families and staff by 6 AM Friday if school schedules are impacted for that day.
