FWP's Mission is to steward the fish, wildlife, parks, and recreational resources for the public, now and into the future. Commenting Policy

FWP welcomes comments on our page and other social media outlets. In an effort to promote a welcoming and engaging environment for healthy public discourse, the following commenting policy is in place for this and all FWP social media sites.

· Be Kind and Courteous - We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Do not use all caps.

· Posts that include the personal information of hunters, anglers or individuals will be removed. Information that may compromise the safety or security of the public, public systems, agency, officers, employees is not allowed. Content and comments can be deleted from social media if they fall into any of the following categories:
· Obscenity, including racial slurs
· Pornographic content
· Content which violates the right to privacy
· Comments which may reasonably interfere with, inhibit or compromise law enforcement investigations, tactics, or the safety of enforcement
· Threats or “fighting words”
· Solicitations to commit, or speech integral to, criminal conduct
· Fraud
· Defamation (libel/slander)
· Commercial solicitations, promotions, or advertisements
· Hate speech
· Off-topic comments
· Spam
· Malicious or harmful software
· Links to websites that violate one of these listed categories
· Promotion in favor of, or in opposition to, a candidate campaigning for election to a political office.

Social media and online administrators will remove comments they believe violate these rules. Habitual offenders will be blocked from FWP social media outlets.

Join the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting this Friday, June 12, at 8 a.m. at the Montana Heritage Center in Helena (225 N. Roberts St.). You can also participate from any FWP regional office or tune in online via Zoom.

There are several ways to share your comments:
•Speak in person during the meeting in Helena.
•Join via Zoom from any location (Zoom participants must register by noon on July 11).
•Visit any FWP regional office, which will be connected to the meeting virtually.

FWP is looking for a volunteer (individual or a couple) to join the team at Thompson Falls State Park! 🌲🏕️

Nestled on the shore of the Clark Fork River, the park is just 2 miles from the charming town of Thompson Falls. A beautiful riverfront trail connects town to the park, and opportunities to explore the surrounding National Forest are endless!

As a camp host you will:
• Help staff the park's entrance station.
• Assist with campground operations and reservations.
• Hit the trails and enjoy the park.
• Work 3–4 days per week, 3–4 hours per day.

Perks include:
• Free RV/camper site with 30/50 amp, water, and sewer hookups
• $100 monthly stipend per person
• Living in a riverfront campground

📢 Flathead Lake State Park is looking for 2 sets of awesome volunteer camp hosts to join the team at the Big Arm and West Shore Units on beautiful Flathead Lake, Montana!

Campground host positions at: Big Arm and West Shore

Nestled on the shores of Flathead Lake, you’ll be situated close to Glacier National Park and 1.5 hours from the Canadian border.
A short drive (or even walk) from hiking, fishing, paddling, and more outdoor adventures! 🌲

The deadline to apply for Antelope, Deer B, Elk B, Sandhill Crane, and Swan licenses is today!

Applications must be submitted online, at an FWP office, or through a License Ambassador. The FWP Region 1 Office is open today 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

FWP provides several resources to assist applicants, including instructional videos for both residents and nonresidents and the MyFWP mobile app. The app allows users to store and access licenses, permits, and E-Tags, even without cell service.

Become a Junior Ranger at Lone Pine State Park! 🌲

Students in grades 3–6 are invited to explore the outdoors through six fun, hands‑on adventure programs. 🔍 Each participant will earn their very own Montana State Parks Junior Ranger badge after attending a program! 🎖️

Programs run on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and cost $4 per student. Space is limited to 20 participants per session, so be sure to sign up soon! 📅✨
