I joined NeighborWorks Montana's local staff last night as they met with residents of the Spring Creek Mobile Home Park to discuss their options after receiving their 180-day notice to vacate. Over the last couple of weeks I've been meeting with many park residents about their concerns.

I thank NeighborWorks Montana and the Whitefish Community Foundation for establishing a relocation fund to assist park residents. Please join me in donating to and spreading the word about this fund.

Construction is progressing nicely on phase I of the Evergreen Sidewalk Project. Crews are making quick work of the east side of US 2. Once school is out, crews will move to the west side of US 2, with the goal of completing the entire first phase by late summer.

Please continue to be cautious and look out for students and construction crews in the area.

I represent the best legislative district in the state!

A local property owner surprised me today with a Montana-style thank-you note for my work in securing funding for phase II of the Evergreen Sidewalk Project.

BIG Thanks to all the business owners, property owners, Evergreen Community Partners, the Evergreen Chamber, and all the community members who’ve helped bring this critical project to fruition. Starting this fall, Evergreen Kids will have safe routes to schools!

The Yandl family is a force. I met them in February and was immediately drawn to their cause to ensure their son has the educational resources needed to attain the best quality of life.

The uncomfortable truth is that Montana is falling short regarding the educational resources we provide to children with special needs. We can and must do better. I am committed to assisting the Yandl family in their mission.

I attended the Evergreen School District Community Council meeting this morning, where we received a great update on the academic and student behavior from Superintendent Barron. It’s great to see these positive developments.

Evergreen has the largest water/sewer district in Montana. Ryan Osmundson, Montana’s Budget Director, and Paul Green, Montana’s Commerce Director, joined me last week to tour and learn more about the district and their upgrade plans.

Strengthening our water and wastewater infrastructure is critical to our community’s health and economic growth. Thank you to Cindy Murray and district staff for taking the time to tour Directors Osmundson, Green, and I around their facility.

Students currently walk along Highway 2 to get to class alongside 20,000 vehicles that use the road every day.
