Your grocery run can do a little extra good this month!

Through September 30, our generous partner, Harding's Market, is giving shoppers the opportunity to support local su***de prevention efforts at checkout.

How it works:

Shop as usual at any Harding’s Friendly Market.
Ask to round up your purchase to the nearest dollar at checkout.
The difference supports su***de prevention efforts through Gryphon Place.

We’re incredibly grateful to Harding’s for their partnership and for making it easy for our community to show up for one another. Every little bit adds up!

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Knowing how to support someone who’s struggling can change what happens next.

This September, join a training, the Su***de Prevention Walk, or another community event. Learn the signs. Practice the conversation. Know where to turn. These are skills that can help save a life.

We’ll share opportunities throughout September, and we hope you’ll join us.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7.

We’re looking for helping hands, kind hearts, and a few excellent outdoor voices. 💙

Volunteer with us at the 13th Annual Gryphon Place Su***de Prevention Walk on Saturday, September 19, at Bronson Park.

Whether you’re helping with setup, guiding walkers along the route, or bringing the encouragement at a cheer station, you’ll help create a day rooted in connection, remembrance, and hope.

Every role matters. Every person who shows up helps remind our community that no one has to walk alone.

Find your spot and sign up today at gryphon.org/spw.

What a morning it was, Kalamazoo. 💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first-ever Su***de Prevention Action Network (SPAN) Town Hall last week at Mount Zion Baptist Church . There was something special about seeing so many people in one room, ready to listen, learn, connect, and keep building a safer, more supportive community together.

We were also proud to present Su***de Safe Organization seals to 16 local organizations that have taken meaningful action to prepare their teams to recognize warning signs, respond with care, and connect people to support:

• OutFront Kalamazoo
• Prevention Works, Inc.
• Kalamazoo Public Schools
• Integrated Services of Kalamazoo
• Comstock Public Schools
• Gull Lake Community Schools
• A Seed of Hope Family Counseling Center
• YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo
• Senior Care Partners PACE
• Western Michigan University
• Bronson Methodist Hospital
• Kalamazoo Electrical Training Alliance
• Gryphon Place
• Family & Children Services
• Battle Creek VA Medical Center
• Milestone Senior Services

Congratulations to every honoree, and thank you for showing what su***de prevention looks like in action.

Our first Town Hall is in the books, but we’re just getting started.

If you or someone you know needs emotional support, call or text 988. Free, confidential help is available 24/7.

Plot twist: our C.O.R.R.E. Center just got even more welcoming. 📚

Thanks to Priority Health, visitors now have a Little Free Library to explore, share, and enjoy. They also provided bookmarks connecting young readers with Frida’s Fireworks, a free digital children’s book available in English and Spanish.

It may be a little library, but it holds some big possibilities. A new story. A quiet moment. A resource shared. One more way to help someone feel at home in a space built for connection.

Thank you, Priority Health, for helping us turn another corner of our downtown space into a place where curiosity, care, and community can grow.

We’re easier to find downtown!

Our new sign is officially up at the C.O.R.R.E. Center, pointing visitors toward the main entrance.

The downtown location is home to Gatekeeper, our school-based youth su***de prevention program, and Community Information Exchange, which helps people connect with in-person support for basic needs. It also serves as a hub for additional Gryphon Place programs and community resources.

If you’re visiting us downtown, look for the sign and follow the arrow!

There are plenty of reasons to walk, and every one of them matters.

Walk to honor someone you love. Walk to support a friend or neighbor. Walk for your own well-being. Walk because everyone deserves a community that shows up when life gets hard.

Whatever brings you to Bronson Park on Saturday, September 19, your presence helps support Gryphon Place’s work and reminds others they are not alone.

Find your reason and join us for the 13th Annual Su***de Prevention Walk.

A new school year brings new routines, new faces and plenty of feelings mixed in.

Helping a friend doesn’t start with having all the answers. It starts with noticing.

Maybe they’ve been quieter lately. Maybe their mood has shifted. Maybe something just feels off.

Check in. Listen. Take them seriously. Remind them they’re not alone. If more support is needed, help them connect with a trusted adult.

That’s what Gatekeeper is for. Gryphon Place’s school-based program gives middle and high school students practical tools to care for themselves, recognize a crisis and know what to do next. It helps young people show up for themselves and their friends without asking them to carry everything on their own.

Bring Gatekeeper to your school or youth organization. Learn more and schedule a class at gryphon.org/gatekeeper.

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text 988.
