The Kalamazoo County Area Agency on Aging Region 3A (AAA3A) is holding a public hearing for residents to provide community input and comments on the Fiscal Year 2025 draft Annual Implementation Plan.

The document details how federal Older Americans Act and state funds are utilized—and sets forth planning and goals for the continuation, improvement, and expansion of a comprehensive, coordinated system of services that help older adults maintain independence in their homes and community.

Kalamazoo County Area Agency on Aging and Environmental Health teams have partnered to address the risk of mosquito-borne disease in our county. Thanks to a grant from MDHHS' Emerging and Zoonotic Disease Program, over 600 bottles of bug repellent have been purchased for distribution at senior centers throughout Kalamazoo County! Kalamazoo's Area Agency on Aging and the Portage Zhang Senior Center are back for Caregiver Day 2023, and we are still taking RSVPs! If you need care for a loved one in order to participate (respite), WMU's Adult Day Services has graciously agreed to open their wonderful center where your loved one will enjoy a day of socialization and activities!
