This morning, Beth and FHCSWM Board Members Marcia and Marty had the opportunity to attend a nonprofit advocacy breakfast hosted by the Battle Creek Coalition for TRHT.

It was a thoughtful and energizing conversation bringing together nonprofit leaders, funders, corporate partners, and elected officials to talk honestly about the challenges facing our sector and how we move forward together.

A special thank you to Washington Heights United Methodist Church for hosting and providing such a wonderful breakfast, truly food for both the body and the soul. 💙

These are the faces behind your local fair housing centers. 💙🏡

Today, fair housing staff from across Michigan came together for our statewide all-staff meeting to connect, collaborate, laugh a little, and continue strengthening this work together. It’s always energizing to spend time with people who care so deeply about housing and their communities.

A big thank you to our fair housing allies at Michigan Realtors for generously providing such a beautiful meeting space for our group. We truly appreciate the hospitality and partnership!

A big thank you to the Edison Neighborhood Association for welcoming us into your space and for supporting conversations that help strengthen fair housing awareness in our community.

We especially appreciate the small but mighty group who joined us for such meaningful discussion and engagement throughout the training. Fair housing work continues beyond April, and we’re thankful to be part of it alongside community partners and residents across Southwest Michigan.

Yesterday, we spent 🌍 honoring fair housing and recognizing that the communities we build, and who has access to them, matter. Just as Earth Day calls us to care for the environments around us, fair housing reminds us of our responsibility to create communities where everyone has a fair opportunity to live, grow, and thrive. Safe, stable, and accessible housing is deeply connected to community health, environmental quality, transportation access, and overall well-being.

Thank you to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and LISC Kalamazoo for convening the Battle Creek Housing Stakeholders Meeting and creating space for important conversations about housing in our community. It was great to connect with partners committed to strengthening housing access and opportunity across the region.

Fair housing is about more than where we live, it is about building communities where everyone belongs.
