I teach research science at the Kalamazoo Area Math & Science Center. I am a mom of two small children, Beatriss, 4 and Juniper, 2. My family and I are confronted with the same issues that a majority of citizens of Michigan’s 6th Congressional district face every day; issues like access to high-quality childcare and education, healthcare, and jobs that provide good incomes and benefits for working families.
I'm running for U.S. Congress as a Democrat because I believe we need honest representation for the working and middle-class people of Allegan, Berrien, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties in Michigan.
We need more people from the front lines of our communities representing us in government. These are teachers, doctors, nurses, and social workers. These are the critical thinkers most in touch with community needs, and most equipped to advocate for and advance the changes we need in Washington.
We deserve better. We belong in office.
