Hawaii Island outage update as of 4:30 p.m. HST on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026: Crews are continuing to work to complete damage assessments and repairs following Tropical Storm Lala. We understand that it is frustrating and challenging to be without power. There is significant damage to transmission/subtransmission lines due to high winds and uprooted trees, and customers in certain remote or severely damaged areas should prepare to be without power for much longer periods of time.

We are providing these estimated restoration times for customers in these areas to prepare for these extended outages and thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to work to restore power to all customers.

If you see a downed power line, please call our Trouble Lines and stay away. Treat them as energized and dangerous. If you see others in your area are restored, but you do not have power, please be sure to report your specific location online so our crews are aware, and to help keep our phone lines open for emergencies.
