I mean....kids can wear whatever college gear they choose...but it's a scientific fact (I read it online...so it must be true) that wearing Aggie maroon increases your IQ to genius levels!

Look forward to seeing all the college pride tomorrow!!

We are proud to recognize our first recipients of the Panther Pride Award!

Each week, teachers and staff nominate students who stand out through their everyday actions and demonstrate what it means to be a Pike Panther through Pride, Integrity, Knowledge, and Excellence.

Congratulations to this week’s recipients. Keep Believing in P.I.K.E.!!

Enough talk about pick-up and drop-off…I wanted to share how much of an amazing day we had yesterday! The building was definitely alive as we welcomed back out returning Panthers, and said hello to our newest members of the Pike family. Here are just a few images I was able to snag.

It’s going to be a great year!

Howdy Families,

This morning was already much better for drop-off! We still have a few areas where we can make the process even more efficient.

Morning Drop-Off

The biggest backup happens when cars park and wait in the drop-off lane. If you arrive very early (pre 8:00), you are welcome to park and wait. Once it is after 8:00, though, please have your student ready to exit and keep the line moving. I or one of my team members will begin coming outside around 8:10–8:15, so staff will be there to supervise students.

Please pull all the way forward before stopping. This one makes a huge difference. Even a few large gaps between cars can quickly create a backup that stretches well beyond the drop-off area.
Please have backpacks, lunches, and goodbyes taken care of before you reach the front. Once you stop, students should be ready to “drop and go.”

If the line is backed up and you would like to drop your student sooner, you may carefully use the second lane next to the parked cars. Please watch the vehicles around you and use extra caution. The crosswalk area is the safest location to unload if you choose this option.

Following these few steps will help tremendously. Once we get cars moving consistently, we can unload a large number of students pretty quickly.

Afternoon Pick-Up

For this afternoon, please bear with us as we continue making adjustments. Yesterday’s traffic volume was significantly heavier than what we typically experienced last year, particularly with the number of cars arriving early.

Remember that we also have a pick-up lane in the back of the school. That lane moved pretty well yesterday and is another option for families. I know I said 6th and 7th only...but if you need another choice, it's there.

If your student has a phone, please touch base with them as you approach the front/back so they can locate you and hop right in.

Our SRO is working with the district to help traffic move through the light at FM 156 as efficiently as possible.

If you do not need to arrive early, there is no need to rush to campus 30-45 minute early. Your student will be supervised and will be fine waiting a few extra minutes. Yesterday, cars arriving and parking early caused the line to extend back into Texan Drive, which then interfered with high school dismissal traffic.

We appreciate everyone working with us as we continue to improve the process. Each day should get smoother as families learn the new traffic patterns and we make adjustments based on what we see.

Keep Believing!!

Howdy families....Mr. D here. Lesson learned from yesterday, and today we will be holding all of the bus riders in the cafeteria until their bus arrives. Hopefully there will not be as big of a delay, but either way we already made the plan after all was done yesterday to move the waiting inside.

I apologize for the kids having to wait that long and for being in the heat. We will do better today!

For all the parents who drove their kids today...THANK YOU for your patience and understanding today! There is nothing like first day traffic, but it will calm down in the next week!

Wow...what a start to the school day! If you were out in the traffic this morning...bless you! Things will definitely settle down soon (give it at least through this next week), but we appreciate your patience and positivity as we worked through all the first day traffic!

For pick-up...please make sure you follow the map for your student's pick-up location. The more we follow the established pick-up processes, the faster and safer it will be.

6th/7th Grade will be picked up in the back of the school.

8th Grade will be picked up in the front of the school. Please stay in the right lane and only use the left lane for pass through traffic.
