Mariner moment: They’re learning… and they might not even realize it.

Ms. Ziegenfuss’s 8th grade ELA students took on theme through small-group learning—getting out of their seats, talking, collaborating and actually doing the thinking.

Small groups = more voices, more movement and more learning.

Four weeks ago, we lost a shining spirit.

For 23 years, Kevin Burns was a beloved part of the Jupiter Middle School family. His classroom was a place where students were cared for, listened to, and respected—and his trademark greeting, “Have a Sublime Day,” reflected the joy and kindness he brought to our school each day.

Today, we proudly wear those words as a small way to keep his spirit alive. Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will be donated to Kevin’s children.

We miss you, Kevin. We feel your absence every day, but we also feel your presence in the way we care for our students, look out for one another, and choose joy.

May we all live a little more like Kevin. And may we all have a Sublime Day. ⚓️💙

⚓️Mariner Moment: Meet Kai, one of our awesome 6th grade Mariners! 🎶

Kai stopped by on his way to band to share a little about his love for the trombone — and we couldn’t resist capturing the moment! We love seeing our newest Mariners finding their place, getting involved and sharing what they love.

Not only is he learning to play trombone, Kai also loves learning guitar and the drums, playing since he was little. We love that you brought that energy to JMS!
