Starting today, October 12, the Pipeline Skate Park at Jackie Renninger Park will operate on reduced hours through the end of October. The park will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and all gates and facilities will be closed outside of those hours.

This change responds to an increase in safety and sanitation concerns on the grounds. Park staff and the Juneau Police Department will also be conducting extra patrols during this time.

We hope to return to normal hours in November if conditions improve. Thank you for helping us keep the park safe and clean for everyone.

There's nothing quite like summer at the Jensen-Olson Arboretum! They had a great season with nearly 11,000 visitors. 🌼 Here are some highlights from this summer:

• More than 172 children visited with youth groups or school groups, or took part in their educational programs ✏️
• They hosted 668 family activities, including Mother's Day, Theater Alaska performances, weddings, and the piano series 🌹
• 12 elders from the Pioneer Home joined them 🫶
• 16 amazing volunteers helped with garden care and events 🪏
• Nearly 50 pounds of fresh-grown produce were delivered to local nonprofits 🥕
• There were lots of visits from animal friends! 🦌

We are already looking forward to next summer, but for now, we hope you'll head out to see the autumn colors this beautiful fall weekend! 🍂
