The 511 system is operated and managed by ADOT&PF. While we strive to update information as quickly as possible, we offer no guarantee the information is real-time. Road conditions can change quickly and without notice. ADOT&PF have partnered with Alaska State Troopers for entering information on crashes and delays on our highways. We also post information from Anchorage Police Department, Valdez Police Department and Fairbanks Police Department in terms of delays or closures on our highways in their jurisdiction. The State of Alaska does not have a Statewide Traffic Operations Center, like some other states do. We do not have personnel monitoring the 511 system 24/7 365 days a year. We make every effort to push information out from multiple sources and our agency partnerships. We encourage travelers to contact us (while safely stopped, of course) if there is a closure or traffic delay not reported on 511. Contact us either via Facebook, email [email protected] or use the "Feedback" tool on the iPhone and Android App.

! The Denali Highway, which connects the Parks and Richardson Highways, is ending seasonal maintenance until spring. As one of Alaska’s seasonal roads, it closes each winter due to heavy snowfall and reopens in the spring after crews complete snow removal and culvert thawing. These routes often pass through remote areas with minimal services, and travelers should be prepared for self-sufficiency.

The Denali Highway is closed for public travel. Before traveling, visit 511.alaska.gov for the most up to date road conditions.
