Sheldon Jackson Museum HVAC Construction Underway! Please note that the Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka will be closed to the public starting on October 1 for a much-needed replacement of the HVAC system. The museum is anticipated to reopen to the public on December 1 following successful completion of the project. This exhibit showcases Dorothy Grantโ€™s 40-year career in haute couture, from traditional regalia to contemporary fashion and her critical role in bringing Indigenous fashion to the world stage.

This book surveys the past four decades of Grantโ€™s journey building her legacy making Haida fashion since her first clothing collection, ๐˜๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ, debuted in 1989.

This week in the Children's Exploration Center: installation of wood trim, child-height tabletops, new carpet squares, sanding and priming the wall panels, and a visit from the Friends of the Alaska State Library, Archives, and Museum.
