We want to give a huge shoutout to our state parks intern this summer, Jordan Ortega! He truly has hit the ground running since he started here in May. Jordan has helped out all over the park, from caging pecan saplings to protect them from invasive species, to learning about park operations!
Jordan has helped with leading and developing interpretive programs, checking in park visitors at HQ, invasive plant management, flood cleanup, turkey brood surveys, etc! Additionally, he was able to work alongside biologists in both the inland fisheries and wildlife division to learn more about their work.
Jordan has already accomplished so much in just a few months this summer and we will miss him when we returns home. He will be starting his junior year at Texas A&M Texarkana, majoring in Biology with a minor in environmental science. Stop by South Llano River State Park to say hi to our awesome intern before the summer is over!
