Today we were honored by a surprise visit from the Run For The Wall organization and presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for our assistance and support.

It is truly an honor to be recognized by such an incredible organization whose mission is to honor our veterans, fallen service members, prisoners of war, and those still missing in action. We are proud to support those who have served our country and are grateful for the opportunity to assist during their journey through our community.

Thank you to Run For The Wall for this meaningful recognition and for all that you do to keep the memories and sacrifices of our nation’s heroes alive.

The Geary County Sheriff's Office joins agencies nationwide to honor and thank all of the law enforcement officers who proudly serve their communities. We also take time to reflect and remember those who've made the ultimate sacrifice as well as their families, friends and co-workers who ensure their legacies live on.

In 1962,John F. Kennedy declared May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and made the calendar week in which it falls as National Police Week. It was created to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
