✨ Dreaming big for the future of Junction City & Geary County! ✨

Last week, community leaders, local organizations, business partners, military representatives, and residents came together for the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) workshop to explore how we can better utilize our incredible outdoor assets to strengthen our community. 🌳🏞️🚴‍♂️☀️

From recreation and tourism to economic development and quality of life, the conversations were filled with exciting ideas, collaboration, and a shared vision for what's possible. 💡🤝🌟

A special thank you to Jordan McCann and the Main Street staff/ volunteers for helping bring this opportunity to our community and to everyone who took the time to participate. Your passion for Junction City and Geary County was on full display! 👏❤️

The work is just getting started! 🚀 Stay tuned as we move into the next phase of the process and begin turning these ideas into actionable plans for our community.

Beginning Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, West 2nd Street between Madison Street and Jackson Street will be closed to through traffic as City crews complete water system improvements in the area.

Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time. We appreciate your patience as these important infrastructure upgrades are completed.

Beginning Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th, during the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, City crews will be conducting water system improvements in the following areas:

• Madison Street to Webster Street
• Walnut Street to West 3rd Street
• 2nd Street Cul-de-sac
• 3rd Street Cul-de-sac

Residents within the affected area may experience little to no water pressure while work is being completed between 8AM and 5PM. We appreciate your patience as these important upgrades are made to improve our water infrastructure.

Beginning Monday, June 1 through Tuesday, June 2, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, City crews will be conducting water line maintenance on East 8th Street between Perry Street and Filley Street.

Residents and businesses in the affected area may experience little to no water pressure during work hours. We appreciate your patience and understanding as these necessary repairs are completed to improve system reliability.

🌊☀️ The wait is almost over! The JC Community Pool officially opens Saturday, May 30th! Grab your sunscreen, towels, and friends because we are ready for another fun-filled summer at the pool! 🏊‍♂️💦

The pool will be open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1 PM – 7 PM at 1001 W 5th St.
