Today, our school came together in honor of Patriot Day.

The celebration began with an all-school assembly, where students from every grade joined their voices together to sing patriotic songs.

Following the assembly, students participated in our annual Freedom Walk, walking through our community alongside families and community members.

We are thankful for everyone who joined us as we walked together to honor those whose lives were impacted by September 11.

Meet Our New Eisenhower Eagle!

Weโ€™re so excited to welcome another new member to the Eisenhower family this year! Help us get to know one of our newest Eagles!

Meet Our Eagle:
Lindsey Dougherty is entering her 10th year in education and her 1st year in Geary County! She and her husband, along with their 2-year-old son, moved to the area over the summer from Lenexa, KS. She spent her first 9 years in the Olathe School District, 3 years as a general education teacher and 6 years as a special education teacher. She has also taught competitive dance for the past 8 years!

Why Education?
She always knew she wanted to be a teacher! As a little girl, she would visit her uncleโ€™s classroom when he was a teacher. Today, she loves helping children and watching them grow and make progress, on both their hardest days and best days.

A Few Favorites:

Color: Blue
Snack/Treat: Nachos, Puppy Chow & anything sweet!
Drink: Coke or Sweet Tea
Hobby: Puzzles & being a dance teacher
Favorite Activity: Playing games and being outside with her son

Fun Fact:
She has been teaching competitive dance for 8 years!

Outside of School:
When sheโ€™s not at school, she loves spending time with her 2-year-old son, especially playing games and enjoying the outdoors. And with a little one who loves trains, dinosaurs, sports balls, and balloons, thereโ€™s never a dull moment!

Welcome to Eisenhower, Mrs. Dougherty! Weโ€™re so happy youโ€™re here and canโ€™t wait to see all the ways youโ€™ll make a difference in our school community!

Meet a New Eisenhower Eagle!

Please join us in welcoming Grace Mosher to the Eisenhower Elementary team! Grace is joining us as our Adaptive Communication and Social Skills (ACSS) teacher, and we are so excited to have her here!

About Our Eagle:
Ms. Mosher began her teaching career last year at Junction City Middle School and earned her bachelorโ€™s degree in Health and Physical Education from Bethany College. She is currently pursuing her masterโ€™s degree in Special Education at Pittsburg State University.

Why Education?
Ms. Mosher always knew she had a gift for teaching others. After playing sports her entire life, including collegiate softball, she initially thought physical education was her calling. She discovered special education along the way and quickly knew she had found the field where she belonged. She loves the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in her studentsโ€™ lives each day!

A Few Favorites:
Color: Royal Blue
Snack: Harvest Snaps
Drink: Diet Mountain Dew
Hobby: Anything and everything sports!
Book: The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon

Fun Fact: Ms. Mosher is an โ€œIrish Twinโ€ with her sibling, and theyโ€™re both educators!

When sheโ€™s not at school, Ms. Mosher enjoys hiking, watching sporting events, spending time with family, and making memories with her two dogs, Bruno and Beans.

Welcome to Eisenhower, Ms. Mosher! Weโ€™re thrilled youโ€™re an Eagle!

After-School Fun Has Begun at Eisenhower!

Our After-School Program is off to a great start! Students are spending their afternoons enjoying a snack, dedicated education time, and homework help before jumping into some well-deserved fun.

With the heat keeping us indoors, weโ€™re finding plenty of creative ways to stay cool, have fun, and build friendships! From kinetic sand and bracelet making to games in the gym, our Eagles are getting opportunities to create, play, laugh, and connect with one another.

Mrs. Rossโ€™s 4th grade class has been leaning about the five regions of the United States in Social Studies!

For their first group project, each table worked together to explore one important area of Social Studies: Economics, History, Civics, or Geography. Students collaborated as a team to create a poster showcasing what they learned and then practiced their speaking skills by presenting their work to the class!

We love seeing the teamwork, creativity, and confidence our students showed during their first group project.
