June is National Safety Month.

Whether you’re on the road, at work, or at home, safety starts with the choices we make every day. From buckling up and staying focused behind the wheel to looking out for those around us, small actions can make a big difference.

This holiday weekend, our officers focused on one simple goal: saving lives through seat belt safety.

During the Holiday Enforcement Period, CHP officers issued 2,172 seat belt citations to drivers and passengers who chose not to buckle up. While citations are never the goal, every stop was an opportunity to prevent a tragedy.

Seat belts remain one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones on the road. No matter how short the trip is, buckle up every time.

Thank you to everyone who made safety a priority this holiday weekend. Let’s continue working together to keep California roads safe.

A goodnight hug. A phone call home. Family dinners. Weekend plans. The people or pets waiting for you to make it back safely.

A seat belt may seem small, but it can make the difference between life and death in a crash. Before you drive, take a second to protect what matters most.

Buckle up. Every ride. Every time.

Yesterday, Inland Division Chief Johnson delivered the roll call of California Highway Patrol officers who gave their lives in the line of duty in San Bernardino County.

Each name read is more than a memory. It is a legacy of service, courage, and sacrifice that continues to guide everything we do.

Standing alongside his executive staff and officers from across Inland Division, we were reminded that this memorial is not just a ceremony. It is a commitment. A commitment to serve with purpose, to protect our communities, and to never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We are grateful to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department for hosting this year’s San Bernardino County Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony and bringing our law enforcement family together in remembrance.

We honor them. We remember them. We carry their legacy forward.

One decision can change everything.

A seat belt may seem small, but in a crash, it can mean the difference between life and death. Too many lives are lost every year because someone chose not to buckle up.

Buckle up. Every seat. Every trip. Every time.

A seat belt can be the difference between walking away from a crash and never making it home.

From May 18–31, the California Highway Patrol will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign with increased seat belt enforcement. Officers will be stopping drivers and passengers who are not properly buckled up.

Too many lives are lost each year because someone chose not to wear a seat belt. In a crash, being ejected from a vehicle is often deadly, and airbags alone are not enough to protect you.

Buckle up correctly every trip:
✔️ Shoulder belt across your chest
✔️ Lap belt low across your hips
❌ Never behind your back or under your arm

“Mom said I can’t speed”… but 91 MPH in a 55 zone says otherwise. 😬

“Baby on board” … ✅

A traffic stop like this might make for a memorable photo, but the reality is serious. Excessive speed puts everyone at risk, especially innocent passengers who trust the driver to get them home safely.
Officer Mcneeley contacted the driver for traveling 91 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone, and the driver was also found to be unlicensed.

Speed limits are not suggestions. They exist to give you time to react, avoid collisions, and protect the people riding with you — including the little ones in the back seat.

Please slow down, drive to arrive, and do not operate a motor vehicle if you are unlicensed.

Your destination is never worth a life. 🚓
