Sergeant Dominic Vaca was killed in the line of duty on May 31, 2021, when he was shot following a vehicle pursuit of a motorcycle in Yucca Valley. Sergeant Vaca was flown to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Dominic served his country in the United States Army before pursuing a career with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie, and two daughters, Angie, and Makayla.

Please take a moment today to remember Sergeant Dominic Vaca, who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On Sunday, May 31st, we honor the fifth anniversary of the tragic line-of-duty loss of San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Dominic Vaca, who gave his life while serving the Morongo Basin community.

A special memorial service will be held this Sunday, May 31st at 8:00 AM to remember and honor our fallen hero. Community members are invited to attend and pay their respects.
