Dr. Debbie Fort for Joplin School Board Debbie Fort is a veteran educator, having served the Joplin School District for twenty-five years an Debbie is an active member of Destiny Church.

Debbie Fort is a veteran educator, having served the Joplin School District for twenty-five years. She was principal of Irving Elementary School when she retired in 2013. After thirty-three years of service in public schools, Debbie now serves Missouri Southern State University as an Academic Skills Advisor. Currently, Debbie serves as a member of the executive and finance boards at the Alliance o

f Southwest Missouri, and as an adjunct professor for Northwest State University. Debbie earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at Missouri Southern State University, her Master of Science in Counseling at Pittsburg State University, and her Education Specialist in Administration Degree from Missouri State University. She obtained a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University. Debbie has been married to her husband, Jim, for thirty-three years. Together they have raised their three children and now enjoy their six grandchildren.

Thank you Joplin voters! School bond passed with 78%!

When I first ran for Joplin School Board in 2014, I had several goals. Columbia needed a new school years ago but had promises made and broken.

I ran for a second term because Columbia still needed their school.

Tonight I am thrilled for the students of Columbia, West Central, and Kelsey Norman. They deserve the same equity to services and facilities.

So thank you so much for loving our children.

Today is Election Day! Please get out and exercise your right to vote. I would be honored to have earned your support over these past few months.

If elected, I promise to continue to fight for increased pay for educators, equitable access to mental health for students, and transparency in the District. We have made significant progress in the last three years, and now we need to continue to move forward. I will be your strong voice at the table if elected.

Lastly, appreciate all the kindness I have been shown as a Board member and now as a candidate by the good, hardworking, and honest patrons of the Joplin School District. Y’all rock!
