McKinley Elementary serves 300 students in grades K-5 in Joplin, MO. McKinley focuses on attendance, positive discipline, and high academic achievement.

This will be our LAST SKATE NIGHT for this school year!

*NEW! We are now required to have waivers filled out for everyone who is going to participate in skating or laser tag. These waivers can be filled out by anyone 18 years or older online on our website, and several minors can be added to each one. They are valid for one whole year! There is a QR code located on the back of the printed flyers, across the very top of our website, or you can click here. We recommend everyone to fill these out ahead of time to save time at the door!

Pizza Party Details:
5:45-7 p.m.: Students will check in at the table just inside the door according to class/teacher.
7:35 p.m.: Pizza and soda are served to the class with the highest attendance

The winning class’s teacher will also receive a $20 Amazon gift card which will be mailed along with the fundraiser check to the school.

Congratulations to our 2026 Academic All Stars! These students worked hard to earn Advanced, Proficient, and Growth scores on last year's MAP tests, and we are so proud of them. Thank you to our teachers and families for supporting your students to strive for academic success.

These students will be celebrated during our upcoming Academic All Stars ceremony, and should have already received their official invite. If you don't see your student on this list for earning Advanced, Proficient, or Growth scores on last year's MAP and you believe that to be in error, please contact the office by Friday, April 10.

2026 FIFTH GRADE FUNDRAISER FOR
END OF YEAR CELEBRATION/PROMOTION

Our McKinley 5th Grade fundraiser is officially underway! We are raising funds to support our end-of-year promotion celebration and field trip-special events that give our students a memorable finish to their elementary school years. This year's fundraiser features Stoney Beef Sticks, a popular favorite every year. Don't miss out-grab some delicious snacks and help our 5th graders enjoy a fantastic final send-off full of fun and lasting memories!

All orders and money MUST be turned in by Feb. 6th 2026.

We hosted a fantastic Groundbreaking Ceremony today to celebrate the new additions and upgrades that will begin later this fall at McKinley! We are so thankful for the support of the district and our school board in helping to make sure all of our students have educational spaces that will help them reach their fullest potential.

Here's a little glimpse into the updates we will be seeing soon:
⭐️ Renovate nurse’s office and restroom
⭐️ New counselor’s office and workroom/lounge
⭐️ Renovate 3rd grade classroom for adjacency
⭐️ Renovate library and SPED rooms, subdivide room for OT/PT and SPED
⭐️ Expand kitchen, demo stage to enlarge cafeteria
⭐️ Add restroom to K classroom
⭐️ Addition for music, art, and 4-yr classroom

These upgrades are going to bring so much to our students, staff, and school community. We will keep you posted on updates as the work begins and continues!

These students will be celebrated at a dessert reception and ceremony from 6-7:30pm Thursday, April 10, at East Middle School. No RSVP is required, but we do ask that students bring no more than 2 guests each due to seating capacity. Invites have been sent on ParentSquare and hard-copies will go home with students this week.

⭐️ Adrienne Carson, JHS Class of 2004 graduate, attended Joplin Schools from kindergarten all the way through graduation, and says she appreciated the amazing coaches and teachers she learned from during her time as a student.

I chose to work in Joplin Schools because I know firsthand the quality of educators and staff members who are part of the organization and I've seen amazing results of their efforts. Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the holiday season. I’m writing to inform you of an unexpected delay regarding our Beef Stick Fundraiser. Unfortunately, due to shipping issues, the order will not arrive as originally expected and will now be delivered after we return from Christmas break.

We understand that many of you were anticipating receiving the beef sticks before the holidays, and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We appreciate your support and patience as we work to resolve this matter.

Once the shipment arrives, we will make arrangements for distribution as quickly as possible. We plan to distribute the beef sticks as soon as we resume classes in January.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support of our 5th-grade fundraising efforts. We wish you all a wonderful holiday season!

McKinley PTO is partnering with Jersey Mike's for a fundraiser from MON 10/21 to THURS 10/24.
For each coupon redeemed the school will get $3!
The funds earned will go to PTO and then used on things like staff requests, playground equipment and building projects.
Make conference week easy by preparing one less meal and eating at Jersey Mike's to support our school!
Flyers have been sent home with students but feel free to share this flyer or print more, we'd love all the support we can get!
Use a paper or digital copy to redeem the coupons when eating at Jersey Mike's.
