It doesn't seem possible that the Joplin tornado was 15 years ago today. Many of our line teams and support teams still remember it like it was yesterday. By midsummer in 2011, crews working to restore service had put in more than 60,500 hours – a task that was deeply personal to so many of them who lived, worked, and raised families here.

Today, 15 years later, we want to take a moment to look back, remember those who were lost, those who showed up to help, and how a community came together and rebuilt in the aftermath of unimaginable tragedy. We’re proud to still call Joplin home. ❤️‍🩹

-Unplug small appliances and space heaters when they are not in use - this is safe practice AND can help save energy

-Keep outlets clear of items that don’t belong there - fingers, metal objects, and moisture
