Several people have asked why our psych ward patients are outside. Here is our background, along with the answer:
15 years ago,Dr Richard Soulsman, a leading psychiatrist from Boston, opened a private care facility for the mentally ill and criminally insane.
When other facilities were over crowded, he would take them in to "help" them.
He would only take in patients that no one ever visited. The unwanted. The unloved. People no one cared about.
Dr. Soulsman liked to experiment on his patients.....test out new drugs and other "treatments" he had come up with.
One of his drugs didn't work as he intended it to....it had an adverse chemical reaction that caused the patients minds and bodies to slowly disintegrate.
After just a month, the now infected patients were dying. Or so it seemed. They lost all human intelligence and affection. Their skin began to peel away, leaving exposed bone and tissue.
Terrified that others would learn of his experiments, he set fire to his facility, The Twisted Souls Sanitarium, killing himself and several of the residents.
His daughter, who was also one of the nurses, saved as many of the other staff members and patients she could. What she didn't know was that when the flesh of the rotting people burned, toxins from the experimental drug were released into the air, infecting whomever breathed it in.
With the facility burned down, she decided to transport the survivors to another hospital, in hopes of saving them, but during the
transport, the van broke down.
The patients escaped, killing whomever they could. The ones who had not fully turned, captured the nurse, dragging her off into the woods.
We must find the nurse. She is the only person who knows how to create the vaccine needed to save these patients.
