🚨 IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT: MSSU Community

🔹 SCAM ALERT: Impersonation of MSSU Police Department Officers

We’ve been alerted to an alarming scam: someone is posing as an officer from our MSSU Police Department (UPD) and calling the parents of some of our students. These callers falsely claim that the student has been arrested and urgently request bond payment over the phone.

🚫 This is a SCAM. The UPD never asks for bond payments via phone.

If you receive such a call:

1. Stop - Don’t Pay: Do not share personal info or agree to send money.

2. Check - Verify the Caller: Ask for their name, badge number, and contact number. Confirm with us directly at 📞 417-626-2222.

3. Act - Report Immediately: Call us at 417-626-2222 or email [email protected]. Give us all the details you can.

Stay Safe:

• Watch out for unexpected calls demanding immediate action or payment.

• Remember, UPD officers have specific IDs and follow set procedures.

• Unsure? Reach out to MSSU PD or the University administration.

Your safety is our top concern. We’re on this – investigating and working to stop these scams. Please be alert and help us keep our MSSU community secure.

🏆 Congratulations to MSSU PD's Patch Competition Winner: Kyndall Winkelman! 🏆

We are thrilled to announce that Kyndall Winkelman is the winner of our MSSU PD Patch Competition! Kyndall, a dedicated dispatcher with the MSSU Police Department since September last year, claimed victory with the Clovis California Police Department's patch, earning a total of 55 votes!

As the winner, Kyndall will receive a $100 Amazon gift card as her prize!

A big shoutout to Kyndall for her impressive find and to everyone who participated in the competition! Your passion for unique patches brought our campus community together and made this event a great success.

Yesterday, MSSU PD commissioned Officer Jack Borup. Officer Borup is a MSSU Alum. He graduated in December with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice Administration. Officer Borup graduated from MSSU's Police Academy in May. We are excited to have him and when you see him around campus, make sure to stop and say hello.
