Reminder of Michigan's updated laws regarding adolescent passengers in affect.

The law will require children under 2 to be in rear-facing car seats, children under 5 to be in forward-facing seats, and children under 8 or shorter than 4 feet 9 inches to use a booster seat. The other change is that any child under the age of 13, regardless of size will be required to sit in the back seat of a vehicle if a back seat is present.

This was a two bill package that passed the legislature in 2023 that aligns Michigan law with current pediatrician recommendations.

Hey folks, it's Grain Bin Safety Week!

Keep in mind that essential grain bin safety requires a "zero entry" mentality, but if entry is necessary, always lock out/tag out all unloading equipment, use a safety harness with a lifeline, and have a trained observer present. Grain acts like quicksand; moving grain can bury a worker in seconds, causing suffocation. Never enter alone, avoid walking on crusted grain, and wear a respirator to avoid dust hazards.
