🎉Summer reading is here! Starting Monday, June 1st, all participants may start logging their reading in Beanstack! Download the Beanstack Tracker app or visit https://wclibrarytn.beanstack.org/reader365 to get started!

🦖Our "Unearth a Story" Summer Reading Kick-Off will be held at the Gray Library from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1st. See what all of our summer reading partners are offering this summer, enjoy dino crafts and activities, and get free ice cream (while supplies last)!

🤔History Trivia Night will be held at the Jonesborough Library on Thursday, June 4th at 6 p.m. Call (423)477-2027 to register your team! Prizes will be awarded to the top three!

👶Last but certainly not least, story times are back at BOTH libraries this week! We can't wait to see you!

📚Story times are back at both libraries next week!

👶🏾Book Babies (ages 0-2) will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays at Gray and Wednesdays and Fridays at Jonesborough. (Please choose one session that fits your schedule best to avoid overcrowding.)

📖Little Learners (ages 3+) will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays at Gray and Fridays at Jonesborough.

🦕Summer reading kicks off next week at the Gray Library! All ages can drop in from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1st to explore crafts and activities with our summer reading partners! Storyteller, Liz Weir, will join us from the International Storytelling Center and the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra will play music from your favorite dino films! The Scoop will provide free ice cream while supplies last! We can't wait to show you all the different ways you can "Unearth a Story" this summer!

🦖Not all events require registration, so if you need more information, stop by to pick up a summer reading brochure and calendar!

🎲We've got the gamers covered this week! All ages can drop in to our game night at the Jonesborough Library on Monday, May 18th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for tabletop and Nintendo Switch games.

We are also pleased to host a Session Zero for tweens and teens interested in getting started in tabletop role playing games! This program will be led by a professional game master from Old Black Mountain Games and will cover the basics of character creation and storytelling! Ages 10-17 are welcome to attend; no registration necessary. We have a session at each library, so choose whichever one suits your schedule!

🧙‍♂️Do you have tweens or teens that are interested in tabletop role playing games? Learn the art of character creation and storytelling from a professional game master from Old Black Mountain Games to get started! We'll offer a Session Zero at both libraries, and ages 10-17 can choose which one they'd like to attend. No registration required!

🏠Last summer, we were proud to pilot our charitable summer reading initiative and raise $1435 for United Way of East TN Highlands to help rebuild homes in Washington County in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

⚛This year, our focus is on helping the outreach team of Hands On! Discovery Center expand their offerings. We believe that high quality STREAM education should be accessible to all children in our community. The staff of Hands On! Discovery Center work tirelessly to make that a reality even if children are never able to set foot in the museum.

📚By participating in summer reading, you will help us make this charitable donation with every book and minute logged. You can also make additional monetary contributions at either library branch if you choose!
