Join us for a meal at The Black Olive in Jonesborough this Thursday the 21st and help us build a Medical Respite facility! 🏠🤝❤️

Medical Respite fills a critical gap in our region. Our neighbors experiencing homelessness need a place to rest and recover. We intend to bridge that gap by building short-term housing with medical support for people who are well enough to leave the hospital but are too sick to recover on the street.

Come dine with us from 11am-9pm and help provide hope, safety, and healing to our neighbors who need it most!

Here in Northeast Tennessee, where healthcare access and affordable housing are limited, Medical Respite fills a critical gap.

In February, Toni and Vic attended the 4th annual Day on the Hill organized by Open Table Nashville, Inc.!

They participated in training and orientation, followed by a rally in front of the State Capitol to bring attention to Tennessee’s housing crisis and call for immediate action from the state legislature.

Toni and Vic spoke with Rusty Crowe about tenant rights, homelessness, and cultivating a relationship that allows legislators and advocates to work together to craft and advance policy that protects safe, dignified homes for all.

Open Table Nashville presented state representatives with two common-sense policy proposals during 74 legislator meetings:

1. Reverse a 2024 law that requires tenants to post a full year of rent to appeal an eviction
2. Require landlords to provide air conditioning as a basic habitability standard in Tennessee

Thank you Open Table Nashville for organizing Day on the Hill and allowing us to stand alongside you to advocate for our neighbors across Tennessee. 🤝🌄

While things may look a little different, our mission remains the same: provide safe, affordable housing for those who need it most through innovative, evidence-based approaches.

At its core, homelessness is not primarily about individual choices. It’s about systems that don’t add up.

When housing costs rise faster than wages, people at the margins are pushed out first.

That mismatch is the single biggest driver of homelessness.
