I have the privilege of speaking to former employees of the Sheriff’s Office on a daily basis. Too often, I am left speechless by the stories I hear. Stories of mistreatment, unfairness, careers disrupted, and families whose financial stability was turned upside down.

Some lost careers while others lost much more.

Because of that, I want to speak directly to every current and former employee who believes they were mistreated by those entrusted to lead them.

The Bible says to write the vision and make it plain, so let me make this plain,

those days are coming to an end.

To those who were overlooked for promotions, denied opportunities or assignments, treated unfairly, or made to feel that success depended more on who you knew, who you were related to, or what circle you belonged to, I hear you.

Under my administration, fairness will not be optional.

We will establish fair and consistent hiring, promotional, assignment, and disciplinary practices. Your value to this agency will be determined by your professionalism, your work ethic, your performance, and your commitment to serving the people of Clayton County, not personal relationships or favoritism.

Every employee should know exactly what is expected of them and exactly what it takes to succeed.

The formula will be simple, do your job, work hard, serve with integrity, and you will have an opportunity to grow.

Every day, you are asked to do extraordinary things, often under extremely difficult circumstances. Leadership has a responsibility to support you, appreciate you, develop you, and lead you from the front.

We will always work aggressively and responsibly to address outstanding lawsuits, civil service matters, and employment disputes where appropriate because unnecessarily prolonged disputes hurt you, your families, the agency, and ultimately the taxpayers of this county.

Talk is cheap and leadership is demonstrated through action.

I look forward to the opportunity to build a Sheriff’s Office where you can come to work knowing that you are respected, supported, treated fairly, and given every reasonable opportunity to succeed.

Help is on the way!

Candidate for Sheriff
Clayton County

In case there was any confusion, this is the Clayton County Jail.

The time for games is over.

As I outline a few of my priorities for the first 30 days, keep this video in mind before describing my approach as “mean” or “harsh.” Restoring order will require decisive leadership.

During the initial 30 days:

• A facility wide lockdown period will be implemented to give the agency the mobility necessary to establish new policies, procedures, training standards, and expectations for jail operations.

• Cell Extraction & Emergency Response Teams (CERT) will be established as full-time operational teams within the facility.

• Proper emergency and less lethal equipment will be introduced so trained personnel have the tools necessary to safely and quickly respond to serious disruptions.

• Inmate cleanliness, conduct, and dress standards will be reestablished and consistently enforced.

• The time an inmate waits for release after satisfying bond requirements will be targeted for reduction to approximately 6–8 hours, rather than the 24–48+ hour delays that can currently occur.

• Every vendor contract will be reviewed to determine whether taxpayers are receiving cost effective services and whether vendors are meeting acceptable performance standards.

• Appropriate restraint equipment will be evaluated and utilized under clearly established policies, supervision, documentation, video recording, and accountability standards when necessary to safely manage actively resistant inmates.

• Employees assigned to jail operations by job classification will be returned to their appropriate assignments, while an aggressive recruitment effort begins to address staffing needs.

• The Classification Division will be brought under jail command, and inmate files and housing assignments will be reviewed using established security and classification criteria, including criminal history, age, medical needs, gender, behavior, and other relevant factors.

• New technology and resources will be evaluated, including electronic detection K-9, drones technology, updated record management software, inmate tracking software, and other modern tools.

• Cameras, doors, gates, security systems, and other critical infrastructure will be evaluated and repairs prioritized according to operational and safety needs.

And this is only the beginning.

I could continue, but the message is simple:

We will restore order and
We will restore standards.

DISCLAIMER: This is only a brief overview of priorities for the FIRST 30 DAYS and does not represent my complete plan for the Clayton County Jail. I am fully aware that there are serious concerns involving living conditions, infrastructure, inmate rehabilitative services, staffing, medical care, and many other areas that must be addressed.

However, I firmly believe that meaningful and lasting improvements cannot happen until we first restore order.

Above all, we will consistently inspect what we expect.

We recently came across a post where someone asked a very simple, yet important question.

“How do I visit someone who is currently in the Clayton County Jail?”

That question highlighted the issue that there is currently no dedicated website where residents can easily find this important information without asking around.

As our campaign continues working to connect the community with helpful information, we have made two commonly requested resources easy to access directly from our campaign website.

Under the RESOURCES tab, you can find:

🔹 Inmate Lookup — Search for information regarding individuals currently housed in the jail.

🔹 Jail Visitation — Access the link and information needed to arrange or learn more about visiting someone in custody.

With Halloween 🎃 just around the corner, we’ve also added a link to the Georgia S*x Offender Registry as a proactive measure to keeping our kids safe.

Our campaign website is more than a place to learn about us. We want it to also serve as a resource for the people of Clayton County.

Visit the campaign website and click “Resources.”

Please share this with someone who may find this resource useful .

God Bless 🙏🏾

I know, I know… AI generated posts aren’t exactly my favorite either 😂, but this one does a pretty good job of summing up our Labor Day safety message.

Look out for one another, make smart choices, and listen… if you need us, call us at (943) 244-1196.

Most importantly: don’t drink and drive. Let’s make sure everyone gets home safely.

This is why we’re bringing the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) back to the Sheriff’s Office.

The days of believing crimes committed inside the jail will go unnoticed or uninvestigated are over.

If you attempt to extort families, sexually/physically assault someone or participate in illegal activity from behind jail walls, understand this, there will be consequences.

We’re also coming after these phone scams. If you prey on families by pretending to be a bonding company or any member of the Sheriff’s Office just to steal their money, you better be prepared for the knock at the door that follows... regardless of your zip code.

Our Sheriff’s Office will have skilled investigators capable of investigating crimes wherever it may lead, when needed. Working alongside our partner agencies to make sure the citizens of Clayton County are properly served.

We will conduct follow-up investigations on cases initiated by our deputies and we will take ownership of our gang, drug, trafficking, and other criminal investigations rather than simply passing the responsibility along.

The message will be clear!

Those with ill intent, It would be in your best interest to keep it low key and off of our radar.
If you victimize people, we’re coming after you.
And if you think the Sheriff’s Office is going to look the other way, you’ve got the wrong one.

Playtime is over.

Building a team that understands the mission, believes in the vision, and represents it with excellence is paramount.

I’m incredibly grateful that members of our team attended a Gala on my behalf in support of an impactful nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and supporting single mothers throughout our community.

This is what “TEAM” looks like. Showing up, Supporting one another, Serving beyond ourselves, And understanding that the mission is always bigger than any one person.

I’m grateful for a team that continues to represent our movement with heart, purpose, and commitment.

I want to apologize to everyone who has supported me for even having to address this distraction.

It was brought to my attention that God’s Favor over us has offended our adversaries.

When I tell you that YOU are the focus of this campaign, I sincerely mean it. We do not participate in, encourage, or condone tasteless attacks against other candidates whether we believe those attacks are justified or not.

My focus is simple: proving myself worthy of your trust and confidence.

Unfortunately, not everyone has chosen that same approach.

Recently, another candidate’s platform referred to us as liars and publicly challenged me to produce documentation as proof of my military service.

There is an old saying: “To argue with a fool only proves there are two.” So I have no interest in going back and forth. But I do believe I owe the people who support me what I have promised from the beginning, transparency.

For those who may not know, I joined the United States Army Reserve at just 17 years old. During the summer following my junior year of high school, I attended Basic Training at what was then Fort Benning, Sand Hill, before returning home to complete my senior year.

I would never disrespect or diminish the men and women who have served this country honorably by falsely claiming military service.

I have attached my military training certificate, not because I need validation, but because you deserve the truth directly from me.

Once again, I apologize that any energy had to be taken away from what this campaign is truly about.

No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

God bless you, and thank you for continuing to believe in what we are building together 💪🏾

Today, I found myself back in court in reference to an arrest I made while serving the people of this county.

And it reminded me of something important:

How you start is how you finish.

Long before this (campaign), I was already doing the work, serving and showing up to help keep our community safe.

I started this journey serving Clayton County, and Lord’s willing, that’s exactly how I intend to finish it, serving Clayton County.
