This month, we celebrated our employee appreciation day, a heartfelt tribute to the entire staff of Clayton County Juvenile Court. Our Social Events Committee deserves special recognition for their exceptional efforts in providing a delightful culinary experience and beautiful decorations that added a touch of warmth to the occasion. The presentation of Employee of the Year awards was a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our team members, and we were inspired by the thoughtful remarks of our Chief, Judge Fox, and our Director Colin Slay. It was a truly uplifting day, celebrating the collective hard work and commitment that makes our court an exceptional institution.

To the left is Tonya Tucker, who was his exceptional Delinquent Clerk, and to the right is Ms. Valarie, who was his outstanding Judicial Assistant!
Working alongside Judge Simmons is a blessing that all that had the pleasure to do it are better for it.

Judge Simmons had the opportunity to greet Joseph, who worked in our Intake department during Judge Simmons' time on the bench and now serves as the Supervisor in Intake. Judge Simmons possesses a unique demeanor that effortlessly puts others at ease, exuding warmth and kindness. You can’t help but smile!

Judge Simmons, retired, with more former colleagues that have such admiration for him. On the stairs with him is Phyllis and Ja’Nel. Meredith got a hug and Christopher Montgomery caught him as he was getting ready to leave. He was an incredible judge and is a truly remarkable person!

Sophia & Isatou, 2025 Senior Youth Commissioners, had the incredible privilege of being personally guided through the Jonesboro City Center by the Mayor herself of the City of Jonesboro, Mayor Dr. Donya L. Sartor! Tonya Tucker, Community Affairs Coordinator, of Clayton County Juvenile Court, met up with them both at the Jonesboro City Center to bestow upon them a heartfelt gift from herself, as well as generous gifts from Chief Judge Salvia S. Fox, Clayton County Juvenile Court and the Clayton County Bar Association. The Mayor graciously giving us the tour was truly the crowning glory!

What an empowering day filled with learning how our judiciary system works from diverse perspectives! There's no doubt these young minds were inspired. “An increase in knowledge is an increase in ability”, at least that’s what Ms. Tucker advised these young ladies!
