Please join us in congratulating Lafe, Marianna, Marked Tree, Maynard, Widener, and Sedgwick for receiving a cumulative total of $2,998,266 for water system and wastewater system improvement projects through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC)! These funds were made available through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG).

🌟 2025 Year in Review: Turning Community Goals into Funded Projects 🌟

The East Arkansas Planning & Development District’s Economic & Community Development Team is proud to celebrate an incredible year of progress and partnership across our region!

In 2025, the ECD team helped secure 29 new projects totaling more than $17.5 million in funding for East Arkansas communities. These investments support critical needs such as infrastructure improvements, water and sewer systems, transportation, parks, workforce development, and community facilities, all strengthening quality of life and economic opportunity throughout the region.

Through programs provided by agencies such as the Delta Regional Authority, Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Arkansas Department of Transportation, and other funding partners, our team worked hand-in-hand with cities, counties, and regional stakeholders to turn local goals into funded projects that make a lasting impact.

We are grateful for the trust our communities place in us and proud of what we’ve accomplished together. As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to build on this momentum, pursue new funding opportunities, and continue supporting strong, resilient communities across East Arkansas.

Here’s your EAPDD Economic & Community Development December 2025 quarterly snapshot!

This quarter, we are supporting 65 active projects across the district, representing more than $46.8 million in total investments and over $4.45 million in newly awarded projects! We are grateful to our partners for helping bring new opportunities and resources to Eastern Arkansas!

We’re proud to share some exciting news for our region! The (DRA) has awarded over $3.7 million in SEDAP funding to support vital infrastructure, workforce, and economic development projects across Northeast Arkansas.

These investments will strengthen communities, create opportunities, and improve the quality of life for residents across the Delta.

Awarded Projects Include:
💧 City of Parkin – $509,000 for water system improvements
💧 City of Caraway – $506,000 for water system improvements
💧 City of Peach Orchard – $508,000 for water system improvements
🚰 City of Brookland – $504,000 for wastewater system improvements
💼 UAEACC – $370,000 for workforce training
🏥 St. Bernards Development Foundation – $307,000 for workforce training
🏗️ Wynne Economic Development Corporation – $509,000 for economic development
🏗️ Economic Development Corporation of Paragould – $509,000 for economic development
