Accidental Structure Fire Investigated in Jonesboro Home

JONESBORO, Maine — The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a structure fire that occurred Thursday afternoon at a home in Jonesboro.

According to information released by officials, the Jonesboro Fire Department responded at approximately 3:48 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to a reported structure fire at 755 U.S. Route 1. After arriving on scene, the department requested assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office to determine the fire’s origin and cause.

Fire investigators responded to the property on Friday, April 10, 2026, and conducted an examination of the scene. Following that examination, investigators determined the fire originated beneath the pellet stove vent.

Officials said no one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. The blaze caused significant damage to the structure.

The fire has been ruled accidental.

No additional injuries or other details were included in the release.
