Community Services Center, Jonesboro, Ark.

Community Services Center, Jonesboro, Ark. Community Services Center seeks to create a network of organizations to build healthy communities through collaboration, advocacy and food security.

In 2014, the Community Services Center began to re-envision its role in Northeast Arkasnas. In August 2015, CSC launched a FANN (Friends and Neighbors Network) in partnership with Magnolia Road Baptist Church to address food insecurity in Craighhead County. CSC also focuses on identifying gaps in local resources and partnering with organizations to build healthier communities. The Community Servi

ces Center, in partnership with Magnolia Road FANN (Friends and Neighbors Network), located in Jonesboro, Ark., started distributing food in August 2015. FANN is a national model that targets food insecurity among families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. FANN provides 30-50% of a family’s food needs monthly. FANN members meet twice a month and have a hands-on role in food gathering, sorting, and distributing. Through a partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas, members have worked together to sort more than 11,000 pounds of food to help feed one another. Magnolia Road FANN currently feeds 13 families with hopes of adding more families and starting other FANN groups in Northeast Arkansas. Members often refer to FANN as their “second family.”

Our Vision: to empower and resource individuals holistically to end poverty in Northeast Arkansas

Our Mission: to create a network of organizations to build healthy communities through collaboration, advocacy, and food security.
