Jones PD's Fi****ms Instructor and Task Force Officer, David Cagle, spent the last few days in the NRA Police Pistol Combat (PPC) Regionals and Oklahoma State Championships competing for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics' competition shooting team. He secured several match wins, including winning the Semi-Auto 1500 at regionals in the High Master Division.

This performance earned him a spot on the Oklahoma Governor's 20, a prestigious group of the 20 highest scoring shooters in the state. This now makes Officer Cagle one of an even smaller group of peace officers who have made it onto both the civilian law enforcement Governor's 20 and it's military equivalent for active duty and national guard members.

Competitive shooting helps pressure test skills and verify that we as an agency are training correctly, and it ultimately translates to more capable officers serving on the street. Congratulations to all the men and women who competed this week!

The Jones Police Department is aware of recent public concerns regarding an individual who was reported trespassing on private property within Oklahoma City limits.
At this time, the situation has been addressed and the individual’s family is aware of the circumstances, including ongoing mental health concerns. Based on the information currently available to law enforcement, we do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.
We ask the community to be mindful that situations involving mental health can be sensitive in nature, and we encourage residents to allow the appropriate resources and family members to assist when needed.
As always, if you witness suspicious activity or believe there is an immediate danger, please contact 911.
We appreciate the public’s concern, cooperation, and understanding.
