Beginning Wednesday, September 9, the railroad crossings at 4th & Main and Main & Henney will be closed while repair work is completed.

Please avoid these areas when possible and plan to use alternate routes over the coming weeks so crews have the room they need to get these crossings repaired and passable for residents.

PLEASE NOTE: 4th Street will be repaired & closed first.

These repairs are not the permanent solution, but they should provide a very noticeable improvement in the meantime — including, hopefully, putting an end to the large-scale ejection of drinks from your cup holders every time you cross the tracks. 😂🥤

As the Board of Trustees continues working toward more permanent solutions for our railroad crossings, we are very happy — and proud — to be able to bring these improvements to Jones.

Y’all showed up BIG for our first community blood drive in July — so big, in fact, that Our Blood Institute asked us to do it again! 💚

And since our second drive happens to fall in October… well… we had to have a little fun with it. 🧛‍♀️

🇺🇸 Labor Day Office Closure Notice 🇺🇸

In observance of Labor Day, the Town of Jones City Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026.

Our offices will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day as we recognize the hard work and contributions of workers throughout our community and across the country. ❤️🤍💙

Police K9s are more than just partners on duty - they are loyal teammates, trusted protectors, and an important part of the public safety mission. 💳 CONVENIENCE FEE UPDATE FOR JPWA CUSTOMERS

The Jones Public Works Authority has reached an agreement with NextBillPay to begin passing payment processing fees on to customers.

These fees had previously been paid by the Authority on behalf of customers under our original NextBillPay contract. In June 2025, the JPWA Board of Trustees approved returning those processing costs to the customer, and we are now able to implement that change at the following rates:

• eCheck: $1.00 for payments from $0.01–$5,000.00
• Credit/Debit Card: $2.50 for payments from $0.01–$300.00
• Credit/Debit Card: 2.75% for payments from $300.01–$5,000.00

Customers who would like to avoid convenience fees may still pay by mailed check or enroll in online autopay.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we worked through the process of getting this agreement in place and keeping the rates as reasonable as possible.
