A huge turnout for Joliet City Council vote on the Hillwood/PowerHouse data center! Thanks to all the Union members who took the time to attend.

From President Doc Gregory:

I believe that the Joliet Technology Center will be a great project for the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades members ... 8,600 jobs for five years is huge. We have not had a project of this magnitude for over 30 years, since they built Braidwood nuclear station. As for the City of Joliet, it is a great project that will provide 700 permanent good paying jobs and also will pay $2.4 billion in taxes. Additionally, Hillwood/PowerHouse will be giving Joliet $100 million to upgrade sidewalks, lighting or whatever the city chooses to do with the money to make things better. It’s a win-win situation for the city and the Building Trades. I look forward to breaking ground and getting our people to work!

Thanks to the Mayor & City Council for unanimously approving this agreement with Three Rivers & our group!

City of Joliet officials stopped by the Three Rivers board meeting today to sign the first of it's kind PLA with us and the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades. This agreement will cover the upcoming water line project in our area. Thanks to Mayor Terry D'arcy, City Manager Beth Beatty, Clerk Lauren O'Hara and the whole City Council!

Give them a honk & wave .... let Bolingbrook know that these rats can stay in Indiana! Like & share to get the word out ... most crafts have lost work on this site!

See this rolling billboard riding around? Cullinan Properties and Premier Design Build has decided to go RAT with their Plumbing! Plumbers Local 130 is gearing up for the FIGHT! Shame on Cullinan, less than a day after they told Building Trades reps the project would be good ... they hire a non union, non local plumbing contractor. Share to get the word out ... NO RATS IN JOLIET!

Operating Engineers Local 150 forced to put up a picket against a Non-Union out of state contractor at Hufford Junior High on Larkin Ave in Joliet. Give them a honk & wave to let Joliet know how we feel about out of state RATS!!!

Laborers Local 75 forced to alert the public about Apex Design Build. Apex led Village of Shorewood and the Building Trades to believe there would be no problem on this job. Surprise!!! They lied to everyone ... NO Union Contractors, NO Local Contractors and NO Local workers! This will be a Veterinary Center owned by a Local Business Owner.
