Southern Will County Cooperative for Special Education SOWIC's ten school districts provide special education programs and services for approximately 2240 students with disabilities.

Each SOWIC district provides a full continuum of special education services either
within their buildings, through the Cooperative or in private facilities. Five of the SOWIC districts employ their own cross categorical teachers and teacher assistants and SOWIC employs the cross categorical staff for the other districts. Channahon School District 17

On May 8, 2026, Fisher School held its first annual, Fun Fair!

Students spent the afternoon enjoying exciting stations including Lucky Ducks, Bean Bag Toss, Ring Toss, Dart Board, Cupcake Decorating, the Photo Booth, and Pie the Principal.

The building was filled with smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to our amazing staff for creating such a fun and meaningful experience for our students.

Congratulations to the Wilmington special olympics track athletes who did an amazing job last week! They walked away with one gold medal, 2 silver medals, two fourth place ribbons and a sixth place ribbon!!! Congratulations to Vinny, Natalie and Jesse! Vinny won the gold medal in his division in shot put leading, qualifying for the state games in Bloomington later this month!!

Congratulations to the athletes who competed in the Basketball Skills competition for special olympics earlier this month! We won 4 gold medals (Marios, Jesse, Lawrence, and Natalie), 3 silver medals (Candice, Devin, and Desire) and one bronze medal (Collin)!! Good luck to our gold medalists at state next weekend!!
