The Forest Preserve District of Will County's 9.93-mile, paved Rock Run Greenway Trail travels through Joliet from Theodore Street south to the I&M Canal State Trail. It is ideal for bicycling, hiking/running, in-line skating, and, in the winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. It connects to the Joliet Junction Trail at the north end to form a 16-mile loop trail.
