Congratulations Spirited In Success (S.I.S.)!

Through the work of Spirited In Success, you see young girls on Joliet’s east side gaining confidence, leadership skills and a stronger sense of who they are. SIS gives them a safe, affirming space to learn about mental wellness, physical health, self‑care, financial literacy and academic and career readiness, all through structured mentorship that meets them right where they are.

The Silver Cross Healthy Community Commission plays a key role in making this possible. By awarding SIS a $5,950 grant and supporting access to a welcoming meeting space through the National Hook-Up of Black Women – Joliet, the HCC helped 14 girls participate in eight weeks of workshops, mentorship sessions and community‑building experiences.

Because of this partnership, you see real growth – stronger decision‑making, clearer self‑expression, deeper peer connections and young women who now walk into every room knowing they belong there.

It’s a powerful reminder of what happens when purpose, mentorship and community come .

🔥 Get in line and learn the latest moves from Line Dance Instructor Tonya Veasy Bew ("Line Dancing with Ton").

🔥 Our special guest DJ, the incredible DJ CUENIQUE ("Chicago 77.3 radio and D-Dynamic"), will keep the music and energy high!
