Fall is my favorite time of year. Not only because it gets cooler, but because I have so many memories of cross country and marching band season!

As a Plainfield Central alum, marching band has a huge piece of my heart and has helped shaped me to who I am today! Grit, discipline, and dedication.

I hope all of our district schools have a successful fall sports and arts season! 💚

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

This morning, I was honored to join our community at the Plainfield Fire Protection District as we remembered the lives lost on September 11 and honored the heroes who answered the call.

We also dedicated the new Front Plaza and Fire Bell, a lasting reminder of their courage, sacrifice, and service.

Thank you to the Plainfield Fire Protection District and Plainfield Police Department for bringing our community together.

September 11 showed us the very best of America in the face of the very worst.

Courage. Sacrifice. Neighbors helping neighbors. A country standing together.

May we never forget those we lost, always honor those who serve, and never lose sight of what can happen when we stand together as Americans. 🇺🇸

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

We remember the 2,977 lives taken far too soon.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and everyday Americans who showed incredible courage and stepped forward to help others.

But I also hope we remember what happened in the days that followed.

America came together.

Neighbors checked on neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. Flags flew from homes, businesses, and front porches across the country.

For a moment, the things that divided us seemed so small compared to everything that united us.

We were Americans first.

Twenty five years later, may we never forget the lives we lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the way America came together. 🇺🇸

Proud to have the support of ABATE of Illinois, Inc.! 💚

ABATE has spent years advocating for the rights and freedoms of motorcyclists across Illinois and making sure riders have a voice in Springfield.

I’m grateful for their endorsement and proud to stand with the riders and families who make up this community.

The best part of this campaign has been the people who choose to be part of it. Monze is one of those people, and I’m so grateful she chose to be part of ours. 💚

I want to take a moment to recognize and thank Monze Bibian for everything she has brought to Team Shanahan.

Monze is smart, hardworking, and genuinely cares about the people around her. She has spent countless hours helping our campaign, meeting residents, listening to their concerns, and learning more about the community she calls home.

What I appreciate most is that Monze isn’t just interested in politics. She cares about people and wants to make a difference.

As a Criminal & Social Justice student at the University of St. Francis, she has a bright future ahead of her, and I’m grateful our campaign gets to be a small part of her journey.

Monze, thank you for your time, your hard work, and your commitment to our team and our community.

There’s a pattern here, and it needs to be addressed.

When serious allegations are involved, silence and accountability matter.

I joined Fox 32 Chicago to explain why I challenged my opponent to answer a simple question about Speaker Chris Welch and why I believe Illinois needs stronger protections when allegations of harassment come forward.

Hard work is at the heart of our communities. 🇺🇸

It’s the people who get up every morning and go to work. The small business owner opening the doors. The teacher in the classroom. The first responder answering the call. The tradesmen building our communities. The parents working hard to provide for their families.

Today is about all of you.

I hope you get a chance to slow down, enjoy time with family and friends, and take pride in everything you do to make our communities stronger.
