🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ CAREER NIGHT AT STARS & STRIPES INVITATIONAL! 🇺🇸⭐

The Northridge Cross Country teams delivered incredible performances this past Saturday night at Seneca East High School, bringing home a long list of PRs and top finishes!

🏆 Highlights:
• Thomas Hilton led the boys varsity team, placing 39th in a huge field of 230 runners!
• Natalee Behn placed 21st out of 120 runners in the middle school race, earning a medal with a career-best time!

🔥 Personal Bests & Career Highs:
• Boys Varsity: Grant Ruth (Career Best), John Campbell (Season Best), Raiden Iverson (Career Best), Garrett Neal (Career Best), Anderson Perler (Career Best), Jackson Todd (Career Best), and Zach Kraft (Career Best).
• Girls Varsity: Annabelle Marburger (Career Best), Addy Noble (Season Best), Emma Lahrmer (Career Best), and Tori Hartman (Season Best).

🚌 REMINDER: School Bus Safety & Evacuation Drills Next Week! Safety is our top priority!

Petermann Bus Transportation will be conducting required school bus safety discussions and evacuation drills with our students on Tuesday, September 15 through Thursday, September 17.

These practice exercises prepare our students and drivers to act quickly and safely in the unlikely event of an emergency.

How parents can help prepare:
🚌Dress for the Drill: Students will sit and slide out the rear emergency door and stand outside briefly. Please have them wear comfortable, sensible clothing.

🚌Bags Stay on the Bus: Drivers will instruct students to leave backpacks and carry-on items in their assigned seats during the drill.

🚌Talk to Your Child: Reassure them that this is just a routine exercise—handled professionally with the same care as a standard fire drill.

🔥High School Homecoming Pep Rally! 💚🤍

The energy in the gym was unmatched on Friday, September 11th, as we closed out the school day with our Homecoming Pep Rally! Here is a recap of all the action:

Fall Sports Showcase: Our team captains took the floor to introduce our fall sports athletes. 🏈⚽

Marching Band Performance: The band brought the noise and kept the crowd pumped up all afternoon! 🥁🎺

Homecoming Court: Congratulations to the members of our Homecoming Court announced during the rally! 👑✨

Pep Rally Games: Students and staff went head-to-head in the hula hoop relay, heads-shoulders-knees-sponge, the inflatable costume race, and wig sn**ch.

Highlight of the Rally:
The teachers’ team faced a controversial DQ in the hula hoop relay, but Mr. Miracle earned Staff MVP honors! Stepping out in a giant pink baby costume for the inflatable costume race, and he fended off wig attacks until he was one of the last standing! 👶💖

Our elementary cafeteria crew brought the energy (and the playful drama) on Friday! Between serving up hot, fresh pizza slices and staging full-blown negotiations over who gets to use Carla’s legendary spray bottle, there’s never a dull moment in the lunchroom.

We love our amazing school nutrition team—serving smiles and keeping things sparkling clean!

Get ready to show off your school pride all week long! Here is the official schedule for our Homecoming Spirit Days at the High School:

Monday, 9/14 – Jersey Day: Represent your favorite team, athlete, or school sport by wearing a jersey!

Tuesday, 9/15 – Pajama Day: Roll out of bed and stay comfy in your school-appropriate PJs and lounge wear.

Wednesday, 9/16 – Meme Day: Dress up as your favorite classic or viral meme!

Thursday, 9/17 – Grade Level Colors: Wear your assigned shirt color to represent your class:

9th Grade: Purple

10th Grade: Green

11th Grade: Blue

12th Grade: Pink

Staff: Yellow

Friday, 9/18 - NO SCHOOL, Teacher PD

Saturday 9/19: Homecoming Dance 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

🎓 SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS — PSAT? YES, NO, MAYBE? 🤔

Thinking about college? Want to see how you’d do on a college admissions-style test? Or, as a junior, wondering if you could qualify for National Merit recognition & scholarships? 🏆

The PSAT might be worth considering!

📅 Wednesday, October 28
⏰ 8:30–11:30 a.m.
💰 $18

✨ Sophomores: Get valuable practice with the SAT/ACT and find out where you stand.

🔥 Juniors: The PSAT also counts as the NMSQT. A top 1% score could open the door to the National Merit Scholarship competition.

But remember: the PSAT is OPTIONAL! It isn't necessary for everyone. If you're planning on a 2-year college, the workforce, or military, you may not need a college admissions test at all.

⚠️ THE OPTION IS NOW!

All sophomores & juniors must complete the interest form by NOON on Friday, September 18.

If you say YES, you are committing to the $18 fee—even if you later decide not to take the test.

💵 $18 payment due October 19
Cash or check payable to Northridge Board of Education
Put the student's name in the memo line.

📣 Think about your plans. Talk it over. Then make your choice! Link to sign up is in your students email. Interest Form is Due back by next Friday, September 18th.
