HEAT & HUMIDITY ON THE WAY
Take extra precautions as a stretch of warmer and more humid weather is expected to move into our area over the next several days. Forecasts indicate temperatures climbing into the 80s, with increasing humidity making it feel even warmer at times. There is also the potential for afternoon and evening thunderstorms as the heat builds.
☀️ Heat Safety Reminders:
🔹Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🔹 Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the afternoon.
🔹Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
🔹Never leave children, pets, or vulnerable adults in a vehicle — temperatures inside a car can become deadly in minutes.
🔹Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and those without air conditioning.
🐾 Make sure pets have access to shade and fresh water.
Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly. If you or someone else experiences dizziness, confusion, nausea, or signs of heat exhaustion, move to a cool place, hydrate, and seek medical attention if needed.
