Emergency repairs to a large water main break are under way, the area affected is US62, Meadow Lane to Westview Drive to Benedict Drive. Water service to this area will remain off until the repair is complete, we are hopeful the repairs can be completed in the next eight hours. If you have lost water service, once restored, you will be under a boil alert. US62 traffic will be affected.

🚨 E-Bike Safety Reminder 🚨
With the arrival of summer, we’re seeing more E-bikes on our streets and sidewalks. We want to take this opportunity to educate the public about E-bike laws and safety.

For all E-bikes, the motor cannot be engaged on a sidewalk.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents — please take a moment to review the graphic below. It’s important that children understand their responsibilities when operating an E-bike, including where they can ride and how to do so safely and legally.
✅ Helmet use is critical. We strongly encourage everyone, whether on a traditional bicycle or an E-bike, to always wear a helmet. It’s one of the simplest ways to stay protected while riding.

🚨 Tornado Siren Test Cancelled 🚨

Due to inclement weather in the forecast, today’s weekly noon test of the tornado sirens has been cancelled.

Regular testing will resume next Wednesday at noon, weather permitting.

During Police Week, we pause to honor and remember the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and this nation. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Johnstown Police wives and families who stand behind our officers each and every day. Thank you for preparing or providing meals, snacks, drinks, goodies, and for the countless acts of kindness and support throughout the week. Today, 👮‍♂️ Chief Smart had the opportunity to attend the Johnstown Elementary school, and meet the 2nd and 3rd grade class at the Career Fair. 📚

It was a great experience meeting so many bright students, answering questions about law enforcement, and talking about what it means to serve and protect our community! 😇 👮‍♂️
