STORM RESPONSE UPDATE
On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the Greater Johnstown area experienced a severe storm that impacted much of the region, including Dale Borough.
During the storm, members of the Dale Borough Volunteer Fire Company responded to several emergency incidents throughout the Borough, including a transformer fire, a child stuck in a vehicle, a roof blown off a building, and multiple trees and debris blocking roadways.
At this time, a tree remains across Messenger Street. Unfortunately, we are still at the mercy of the utility companies and must wait for their crews to safely remove and secure the affected utility lines before the tree can be cut up and removed.
Until that work is completed, we are asking residents and motorists to please avoid Messenger Street and use an alternate route.
Your volunteer firefighters worked tirelessly throughout the storm and its aftermath to help keep our community safe. We are proud to be there when our neighbors need us, but we can always use more help.
