HARRISBURG โ State Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) and PA State Rep. Jim Rigby are proudly announcing more than $1.9 million in Local Share Account (LSA) funding that is being awarded to 17 projects in Cambria and Somerset counties.
โThese awards will allow communities to address critical structural needs, enhance public resources, and implement targeted upgrades that strengthen local operations,โ said Langerholc. โI was proud to work with Rep. Rigby to help ensure this funding was directed back to Cambria County, providing resources that enable local entities to support local residents.โ
โSen. Langerholc and I are more than happy to work with local government officials and bring these critical projects to fruition,โ Rigby added. โWeโre proud to partner with them in making investments in community needs and law enforcement equipment and addressing safety and health concerns.โ
The list of projects is as follows:
โข Cambria County - $279,227 for baseball field and facility improvements at Mount Aloysius College.
โข Cresson Borough - $76,800 for the purchase of a skid steer loader.
โข Cresson Township - $49,365 for the purchase of a new police vehicle and $139,925 for purchasing of a new backhoe.
โข Ferndale Borough - $52,650 for replacement of a retaining wall along Plainfield Ave.
โข Geistown Borough - $84,510 for the purchase of a police SUV.
โข Lilly Borough Water Authority - $87,750 for the purchase of a backup generator to be used in Washington Township.
โข Loretto Borough - $25,360 for the purchase of police department technology and $189,731 to purchase three cardiac monitor/defibrillators for use by the Cresson Area Ambulance Service.
โข Portage Borough Municipal Authority - $29,400 for the purchase of a cold cut planer attachment for use in removing asphalt and concrete surfaces with precision; and $90,090 for system improvements that will ensure water quality and operational efficiency within the distribution system.
โข Reade Township - $137,604 for the purchase of a dump plow truck.
โข Reade Township Municipal Authority - $130,000 for the rehabilitation of two water tanks and $50,855 for purchasing a truck.
โข Richland Township - $157,950 for the purchase of playground equipment at Highland Regional Park and $229,739 to purchase a truck for use in plowing snow.
โข Scalp Level Borough - $114,642 for the purchase of a new truck to be used in Windber Borough.
โข Stonycreek Township - $98,138 for the purchase of an excavator.
The Local Share Account (LSA) program provides funding for projects that promote economic development, community improvement and public interest projects across Pennsylvania.
