"Liberty Tree" Planting Ceremony

Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday and the Southmont Volunteer Fire Co. 53rd Annual Jubilee!

Join us for our historic Liberty Tree Semiquincentennial planting ceremony at the borough building on the final day of the Southmont Jubilee! This living memorial will honor our nation's revolutionary heritage and will take place rain or shine.

­­­The municipalities of the West Hills Region have launched a community-wide survey to gather input on how residents and visitors experience the region. Feedback will help guide a multi-municipality comprehensive planning effort focused on strengthening neighborhoods, supporting family-friendly communities, and identifying shared opportunities across the region.
The survey is open to both residents and non-residents who live, work, shop, commute, or spend time in the West Hills Region. Community input is an important part of this process, and all responses will help shape future planning and investment priorities.

The survey will remain open from February 11 – April 10, 2026

The Southmont Borough Municipal Building located at 148 Wonder Street will be used as a polling location for precint #1 for the November 4, 2025 elections.

The borough office will be working remotely on November 4, 2025. Please call 814-255-3104 ext. 1 to speak with the Borough Manager during this time.
